Why and how should I renew my certification ?

Because of the participation and contributions of people who share their ideas and practical experiences in the workplace, the Scrum framework is expanding and growing. Your interest in the growth and progress of Scrum is validated by renewing your certification. Every two years, CSM certification must be renewed. You must pay $100 to renew the credential for another two years from the date of its current expiration. To renew your ScrumMaster certification, log in to the Scrum Alliance website, navigate to your dashboard, and select the 'Renew Certification' option under the 'Actions' header. CSMs must acquire 20 Scrum Educational Units (SEUs) over the last two years, in addition to the $100 renewal cost, beginning February 4, 2019. This additional criterion has been imposed in order to certify your involvement and ongoing mastery in the core concepts and practices' of Scrum. SEUs can be obtained by completing educational training or a learning opportunity. You worked quite hard to obtain the certification. Don't let it deteriorate! Renew now to keep your certification valid for another two years.

After CSM training, how many days do I need to take the certification?

After finishing your CSM course, the Scrum Alliance will send you an email with a link to establish your login credentials. You have 90 days after getting your membership notification to take and finish the test.

Are the Certified ScrumMaster training materials effective in preparing for the CSM exam?

Can I retake the Scrum Master certification test if I fail?

Yes. The Scrum Alliance permits you to take the Scrum Master test for free the first two times within 90 days after receiving your welcome email. After the third try or after your 90 days are up, you will be charged a minimum of $25 per attempt. If you have failed the CSM test three times, Scrum Alliance recommends retaking it.

Can the CSM® test be retaken to score better marks if I have fared poorly in my previous attempt?

If you've previously passed the CSM test, you won't be able to retake it to improve your score. Only you have access to your test score. Nobody other will be able to view your CSM exam score.

What is the process to become a Certified Scrum Master?

The process of becoming a Certified ScrumMaster® can be explained in the following steps:

Step 1: Choose a CSM® training provider authorized by Scrum Alliance.

Step 2: Enroll for a two-day CSM® course and get trained by Certified Scrum Trainers® (CSTs).

Step 3: After successful completion of the course, our Certified Scrum Trainer (CST®) will send your details to the Scrum Alliance. Scrum Alliance will send you an email that contains the Scrum Alliance account and access details for your CSM® exam.

Step 4: Click on the link received from the Scrum Alliance and create your own login credentials.

Step 5: Log in to take the online CSM® test. The exam consists of 50 MCQs and a time limit of 60 minutes (1 hour).

Step 6: You need to answer 37 questions correctly and score 74% to pass the CSM® test.

Note: The CSM® exam is easy to crack if you prepare from the Scrum Guide, Scrum Primer, and take the CSM® mock tests.

Step 7: Once you pass the test with the minimum passing score, accept the license agreement.

Step 8: After accepting it, you will receive Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification and a 2-year membership from Scrum Alliance.

Step 9: You can maintain your CSM® certification by renewing it once in two years.

Is the ScrumMaster certification worth it?

CSM is one of the most well-known and widely recognized qualifications offered by the reputable Scrum Alliance. Scrum Master training and certifications have grown in popularity over the previous decade. Because Scrum is now being used in sectors other than IT, the need for a certified Scrum expert has expanded even outside his or her existing field of experience.

What do you mean by PDUs and SEUs?

PDUs and SEUs are Professional Development Units and Scrum Educational Units, respectively, awarded by the Project Management Institute and the Scrum Alliance. These can be obtained by participating in educational programmers or learning activities that confirm your involvement and continuous competency in Scrum concepts and precises. To keep your Scrum Alliance certification, you must acquire a set amount of SEUs every two years.

This will include registrant application to any of our CSM education partner scheduled public classes, and where the registrant has already paid for the class.
